How we review courses
CourseFacts helps you compare courses using published course information, provider documentation, and source notes. Our guides focus on prerequisites, curriculum, cost, and the learning goal a course can support. A listing or review does not mean we enrolled in or completed the course. The sources and limits stated in each guide determine what its conclusions can support.
Sources and their limits
Directory listings use our bundled course catalog. Guides can draw on official course pages, syllabuses, platform documentation, pricing and refund policies, and certification or exam-owner documentation. Where a guide has a research packet, it records sources, access dates, the claims they support, and limitations. Older guides do not all have the same depth of source records.
| Source | Useful for | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Course page or syllabus | Listed topics, prerequisites, projects, and duration | Does not prove teaching quality or completion |
| Provider policy or exam documentation | Access terms, refunds, and credential scope | Terms can change; a completion certificate is distinct from an exam credential |
| Platform rating | The platform's reported learner feedback | Not a CourseFacts score or proof of learning outcomes |
What gets checked
Our content checks look for source support for pricing, access and refund terms, curriculum, prerequisites, workload, and certificate claims. Research packets map claims to evidence and record freshness limits. Automated checks flag missing or stale evidence and required sections; they cannot establish that a course teaches well. Editorial review also checks whether a recommendation fits the reader's starting point, available time, and goal, with alternatives where relevant.
Published syllabuses describe intended coverage. Suggested practice projects are learning plans, not evidence that we completed the course. We do not treat course completion, a platform rating, or a provider's marketing claim as proof of employment or salary outcomes. Look for specific evidence in the guide before relying on a claim of hands-on use.
Platform ratings
Ratings and counts shown in the directory come from the named course platform. They are snapshots and may differ from the platform today. CourseFacts does not collect the learner ratings shown in those listings or combine them into an independent score. We do not publish those platform figures as CourseFacts review or aggregate-rating structured data.
Updates and corrections
There is no fixed schedule for reviewing every course or guide. Source records can carry freshness windows, and content checks identify evidence that needs another look. This is not a guarantee that every page is current. A guide's Updated date is reserved for a substantive content change; it does not mean we retook the course. Directory update dates describe catalog records. Check the provider's current terms before paying.

Affiliate disclosure and independence
Some course links are affiliate links. If you use one, CourseFacts may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate placements carry a visible disclosure, and affiliate links are marked for search engines. Our policy is to recommend only what would help the reader without a commission. Payment does not buy organic inclusion, ordering, a verdict, a favorable claim, or a link that passes ranking credit. Paid placements must be labeled and kept separate from organic recommendations.
Using CourseFacts to choose a course
Use the course directory to find options, comparisons to check a shortlist, and guides for context on learning goals and trade-offs. Confirm price, access, and credential details with the provider before enrolling. Our editorial identity identifies who publishes these pages.
